Visibility Guide. Photographer. Matriarch. Ritualist. Artist. Human. Being.
I've helped people birth babies and bodies of work.
I am tender, I feel deeply, I am fierce.
I've been mothering for thirty-one years, working in the healing arts for a few more years than that, and running a business and supporting others in theirs for fifteen. I've made portraits of Carrie-Anne Moss, Rosemary Gladstar, Alexandra Franzen, Toi Smith, Bari Tessler, and hundreds more. I created Visibility Medicine™, the body of work I've taught privately since 2018 and in groups since 2020, where healers, artists, authors, entrepreneurs, and leaders expand their capacity for showing up and being seen, do the work they're here to do, and thrive while doing it.
Specializing in inner and outer business.
Devoted to the sacred.
You are so very welcome, wanted, and invited here.
All of you. No shrinking, contorting, puffing up, or diminishing. Just you in all of your simplicity and complexity.
My guess is that you’re the one people turn to. For wisdom, for perspective, for the truth said with love. People count on you. You want your own life and work to receive that depth of care, too.
You have work to do that won’t let you go. A book (the first or fifth), a body of teaching, a gathering place, a different way of practicing.
You probably have an acupuncturist, an astrologer, and an accountant, and take all three seriously.
I help healers, helpers, artists, authors, and leaders do what they’re here to do, and thrive while doing it.
After fifteen years of having a business online, with all the uncertainty that comes with it, I know this for sure: somehow, again and again (and again and again and again), I am blessed by having the most incredible humans show up in and for my work.
So I hope that after you’ve read through this missive, you’ll reach out and tell me something about you. What you care about, what you deeply crave, what you’re reaching for, what you most want to do with what you have and who you are.
I believe in Us.
I’m not for everybody, but I am absolutely for us.
“Working with Danielle 1:1 is like having a spiritual chaplain, a money coach, an intuitive director and branding advisor all in one.”
Sarah Selecky
If we work together,
here is what you can count on.
I’m steady.
I am steady in the midst of messy and hard. I am steady in the midst of magnificence and ambition. Some would call that having great capacity. I call it love. Your dreams + successes will never be too big or too small in my presence. Neither will your heartbreak or grief.
1
I’m human, and I’ll say so.
2
I am 100% completely and totally human. Fallible and ever-evolving.
I have done spectacular things in my life so far: broken spells, healed traumas, created businesses, published articles and magazines, done meaningful work, helped others do their meaningful work, birthed and raised beautiful babies, helped others birth and raise beautiful babies, made lots of money, helped others make lots of money, mended severed lineages, contributed beauty to our world, and nurtured relationships.
I have also failed spectacularly: broken hearts (my own and others), missed opportunities (and bids for connection), spent way too much time being brutally hard on myself (and occasionally others), struggled with impatience, lack of faith, and magical thinking that’s not all that magical.
I tell you this so you know you can bring your wholeness too.
I work with your whole life.

My body and my intimate relationships have always directly influenced and informed my work. This is true for us all, and one of the reasons why I can only offer holistic support.
We aren’t meant to be siloed off, from each other or from the different aspects of our life. Corporate work culture isn’t designed with our thriving in mind. Our applied creativity will save us.
I don’t perform enthusiasm. When I say something is good, I mean it. When something isn’t working, I’ll say that too.
And I don’t pathologize fear. When you’re scared to be more visible, I assume your nervous system learned something significant about the cost of being seen. We work with that intelligence.
I’ll tell you the truth.

“You say the things that are hard to hear that others might not say. You are compassionate, but with boundaries. You see and listen deeply on multiple levels. Your work is deep, but not heavy.”
Deb Shine Valentine
My work so far
In the nineties and early two-thousands, I had my first three babes. I also trained and worked as a massage therapist, parenting coach, craniosacral therapist, Touch for Health practitioner, birth doula, childbirth educator, Waldorf kindergarten teacher, prayer chaplain, and in a variety of other healing modalities.
In the decades that followed, I trained and worked as an equity-centered coach, branding specialist, publisher, account manager, accounts payable manager, creative director, and more. Some of that work was about paying the bills, some was about following my own creative impulses. Both are worthwhile callings.
Today I work at the intersection of soul expression, self-development, meaningful work, and visibility. Coaching, guiding, photography, healing and intuitive arts, and attachment repair are the mediums I work with most. I work through a trauma-informed, whole-person, equity-centered, magic-as-a-practical-and-necessary-practice lens.
Some of the things I’ve made:
Visibility Medicine™, my methodology and signature group program.
Guide By Your Side, my private advisory practice. Some of my clients have been with me for many years.
Vocati, my portrait practice. I’ve photographed Carrie-Anne Moss, Dr. Jennifer Mullan, Bari Tessler, Theresa Reed, Dr. Rocío Rosales Meza, Alexandra Franzen, Toi Smith, Robert Hartwell, Bari Tessler, and hundreds more amazing humans and moments.
The Joy of Showing Up, the letter I send every other week or so.
I am a matriarch. A mother. A daughter and granddaughter. A once single mother who repartnered when my oldest was 13.
I am an only child who was raised by a single mother, who was raised by a single mother. I come from broken and whole lineages, immigrants, French settlers, Catholic heretics, and the Jewish diaspora.
I learned early what it costs to be seen by the wrong eyes. I also learned that invisibility has its own price: if no one can find you, no one can know you either. My work is informed by both of those formative teachings.
I have learned that I feel most safe and at ease in the presence of authenticity, my own as well as others’. My work is rooted in a desire to help us all see and be seen as and through our authentic selves.
My first and longest vocational call is that of mother. I’ve been mothering for thirty-one years.
Mothering is personal as well as cultural. Mothering impacts all of us. It’s important to grok this. I understand my mothering differently now than I did when I began. I’ll have new understandings in ten years and ten years after that.
Right now my children are 30, 28, 25, and 16. I am, for the first time since I was twenty-one years old, no longer mothering young children. This and my own midlife and perimenopause journey are shaping my life, my being, and my work in profound ways.
I am deep—like really, really deep—in the throes of late perimenopause. I am the caterpillar, the goo, and the butterfly. Sometimes all three before noon.
So I understand the challenges of having time, space, and energy for vocational ambitions as well as for family, caregiving, and health. We plan with all of it on the table.
And I believe in beauty.
Beauty that summons awe.
That reminds us of implicit good.
That inspires hope.
“Danielle is a mix of strategy, warmth, magical active listening & true witness.”

VISIBILITY SUPPORT AND PHOTOGRAPHY FOR THE forces of good IN THE WORLD.
Here’s where we can begin
THE GROUP PROGRAM
VISIBILITY MEDICINE™
A nine-month group immersion for seasoned practitioners, healers, artists, and authors with something important to bring forward, and a body that has opinions about it.
With teaching, council, and protected time to do your work, we practice on a project that matters to you. A book, a website, a new offer, a clearer voice. You’ll have support for the practical work and for what happens inside you as you do it.
Offered once a year, in a small cohort. Enrollment is by application, and the waitlist hears first.

THE JOY OF SHOWING UP
THE JOY OF SHOWING UP
MAY I WRITE TO YOU?
A love letter, twice a month, for practitioners, healers, and changemakers who refuse to shut down or burn out.
Every other week, I send a letter called The Joy of Showing Up. It’s about meaningful work, being seen, and living like we matter, with the occasional invitation to work together.
If you’d like it in your inbox, I’d love to write to you.
Meet Danielle Cohen
