Vocati Photography Sessions
YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE than a brand.
And together we can make photographs that express more of your richness and texture.
Your work, your presence, your particular way of moving through the world. The things people feel when they get to experience your work that can be so hard to put into words.
Photos for your website, your profiles, your ads, your book, the work you’re bringing forward—or simply because you want photographs of yourself in this season of your life.
Photography confronts us and transforms us.
It gives us access to seeing ourselves in ways we could never do without the little bit of magic machinery of a camera (and the person holding it).
For those of us building businesses, writing books, making art, or gathering people around something we believe in, photography is also profoundly practical.
Our photographs help people find us, get a feeling for what we’re up to and about, and decide whether to come closer.
I want your images to transmit something of what it feels like to be in your presence.
Your warmth, your discernment, your mischief. The depth of your work and the aliveness you bring to it.
And I want you to love using them. To have photographs you’re excited to send when the invitation comes. To put your work into the world with images that feel like they belong to you.
While I make beautiful photographs—because my goodness, you are beautiful—pretty is never a prerequisite, or the most interesting thing to me.
I’m interested in what we can make together that is true, useful, and meaningful. Something you recognize yourself in. Something that might help you celebrate and share a little more of yourself, too.
I can generate a likeness; the honest, ensouled photographs we make together come from an encounter it cannot have with you.
There is a whole life in your face.
People you’ve loved. Things you’ve made. Things you’ve survived. The years of learning your craft, caring for others, beginning again. And the delight and sexiness that is still very much alive in you.
A photograph can catch and share a little of that.
I often think about the photographs I wish I had of my great-great-grandmothers. I’d love to see them doing their work, hanging with their friends, absorbed in something they enjoyed. I want to know their expressions and stories. I want evidence of their ordinary lives.
We are making that evidence for ourselves and others now.
Some of the photographs we create will introduce your work, accompany your writing, or help someone find their way to you. Others may become precious for reasons neither of us can anticipate.
I bring a camera, a practiced eye, and years of accompanying people through passages of their lives and work.
You bring yourself. We’ll begin there.
“My experience with Danielle changed my life. I was relaxed for the first time in front of the camera - ever. The results? Stunning. She captured my real spirit in every single shot.”

KIND WORDS from clients
“Having my photos taken by Danielle was a life altering experience for me. I know that sounds big, but it's the truth. And I don't speak it lightly... Danielle has a gift of being a divine seer—a talented photographer—but most importantly a gentle and intuitive witness to the human soul being seen.”
MaryBeth Bonfiglio

“I have the BEST photographer. I was able to pick my own photographer for the shoot, so of course I got Danielle Cohen: my dear friend and the genius artist behind my book cover photo. I was nervous about this shoot, but she did a beautiful job! I’m so grateful for the final cover.”
